How to Produce Rubber Rollers with the Casting Machine

Material Preparation

Preheat A-tank (30~80°C) and B-tank (MOCA: 90~115°C / BDO: 25~50°C). Charge prepolymer and chain extender into respective tanks under vacuum defoaming.

Recipe Setting

Select stored recipe or input new mixing ratio on touch screen. The PLC system automatically calculates and adjusts metering pumps for ≤±0.3% accuracy.

Casting & Curing

Start the mixing head at 6000~10000 r/min, pour the elastomer onto the roller core. The flow rate (80~1200 g/s) is controlled for uniform thickness. Cure according to material system requirements.

Post-Processing

After curing, demold and trim the roller. Use automatic circulation cleaning to purge residual material from the mixing head and lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of rubber rollers can this machine produce?
This machine is specifically designed for polyurethane rubber rollers used in printing presses, conveyor systems, papermaking machinery, and machine tool applications. It can accommodate various hardness, color, and performance requirements by adjusting the MOCA/BDO chain extender ratio and adding color paste or wear-resistant additives.
What is the difference between MOCA and BDO chain extender systems?
MOCA formula delivers excellent wear resistance and compression resistance, making it ideal for heavy-load operations such as industrial conveying and machine tool applications. BDO formula features higher resilience, making it suitable for dynamic operations such as printing rollers that require elastic recovery and dimensional stability.
Can color paste be added during the casting process?
Yes. The 2A2B tank configuration includes auxiliary agent and color paste tanks, allowing color paste to be added directly during the casting process. This supports the production of rubber rollers in various colors and specifications without additional post-processing steps.
How does the vacuum defoaming system benefit rubber roller casting?
The integrated vacuum defoaming system removes entrapped air and moisture from the polyurethane mixture before casting, eliminating bubbles that could create weak points or surface defects. This results in dense, compact rubber layers with superior adhesion and resistance to delamination.
What accuracy can be expected from the metering system?
The closed-loop metering system achieves accuracy of ≤±0.3% across the full operating range. This precision ensures uniform rubber layer thickness, consistent hardness, and reliable mechanical properties that maintain operational precision in printing, conveying, and machine tool applications.
What maintenance is required to keep the machine operating efficiently?
The automatic circulation cleaning and air purge cleaning system simplifies maintenance between production runs. Regular inspection of mixing head components, temperature sensors, and metering pumps is recommended. Haifeng supplies original spare parts including mixing heads, sealing kits, and pump components to support ongoing maintenance.
