Safety Shoe Polyurethane Line Upgrade +220% Daily Output

Project Overview

The customer is a core Australian PPE manufacturer with 20 years of professional experience in safety shoe R&D and production, covering a plant area of 30,000 square meters, originally running 8 semi-manual polyurethane shoe sole production lines, with an annual output of approximately 800,000 pairs and annual turnover exceeding 35 million Australian Dollars. Its core products cover impact-resistant, puncture-proof, oil and slip resistant industrial safety footwear, supplying major Australian construction, mining, chemical and agricultural groups, while exporting to New Zealand, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. In recent years, global safety footwear standards have become stricter, including AS/NZS 2210.3 and EN ISO 20345:2022, with downstream buyers raising higher requirements on sole consistency, protective performance and stable delivery. Haifeng Polyurethane Machinery customized a full-chain upgrade solution based on our HF-LPM series low-pressure PU foaming modular production lines, including dedicated dual-density sole formulas, PLC intelligent closed-loop parameter control and eco-friendly closed foaming configuration. We completed installation, wiring and full line commissioning within 7 working days after equipment arrival, realizing a transformation from extensive semi-manual production to precise intelligent manufacturing, and solving the stable mass production difficulty of high-spec safety shoes.

Solutions Delivered

This project delivered a complete safety shoe polyurethane sole low-pressure foaming intelligent production solution. The core equipment is the Haifeng HF-LPM-1A1B low-pressure PU foaming modular production line (5 sets in total). Each line is equipped with independent high-precision metering modules (single unit dosing accuracy ±0.3%, overall full-line comprehensive tolerance controlled within ±0.8%) and intelligent constant temperature control units (temperature deviation ≤±0.3℃). The full line automatically completes raw material metering, two-component mixing, one-step casting, constant temperature curing and automatic demolding without repeated manual intervention. It supports integrated single/dual-density midsole and outsole molding, fully matching the technical requirements of safety shoes compliant with AS/NZS 2210.3 and EN ISO 20345:2022.

Each HF-LPM line is equipped with an independent PLC industrial control system, matched with optional automatic robotic arms for demolding and material handling. The system stores preset formula parameters for 3–5 mainstream shoe styles and backup custom specifications. Operators can adjust pouring volume, mixing ratio and curing temperature with one-click switching. The offline sorting station at the line end carries out automatic visual screening to detect sole dimension, thickness, density and surface blemishes, realizing traceable forming data.

Haifeng developed exclusive anti-puncture, impact-resistant, oil-slip resistant dual-density PU formulas tailored to Australian mining, construction and agricultural scenarios. The preheating and vacuum dehydration unit stabilizes raw material viscosity before casting, avoiding batch quality fluctuation from the source. All production lines adopt water-based release agents, closed foaming covers and activated carbon waste gas treatment systems to limit VOC discharge within AS/NZS 4140 thresholds, designed to meet EU REACH SVHC and RoHS chemical control requirements. Supporting CNC trimming machines form a closed-loop workflow: raw material pretreatment → casting molding → post finishing → offline appearance sorting.

Haifeng dispatched a team of 6 senior professional engineers to the Australian factory for 7 consecutive days to finish old line dismantling, new equipment installation, wiring and full commissioning. Modular unit design minimizes factory production downtime during renovation. We delivered targeted hands-on training; new operators can master full operating procedures within 4 hours without professional background. The global service policy includes 1-year full machine warranty, lifelong spare parts supply and 24-hour cross-border online technical response. We maintain local service outlets in Australia; most common equipment faults can be resolved by on-site engineers within 2 hours.
