Project Overview
The customer is a local professional manufacturer of polyurethane rail pads and under-rail elastic mats based in Uruguay, with 16 years of R&D and manufacturing experience serving Uruguay National Railways, South American regional commuter rail networks and Latin American heavy-haul freight lines. The original semi-automatic production lines had hardware bottlenecks in elastic modulus stability, fatigue life consistency, wide-temperature adaptability and full-process data recording, leading to batch-to-batch performance fluctuations and repeated risks of failing annual qualification audits and batch supply certification by Uruguay National Railways. Haifeng Polyurethane Machinery customized 3 sets of JJF-G series high-pressure foaming production lines for the customer. Through high-pressure impact mixing, steady-state heavy-load molding and digital closed-loop control, the new lines achieve stable mass production of rail pads with consistent elastic modulus, fatigue strength and dimensional precision, helping the customer consolidate its core supplier status and successfully expand into high-altitude and heavy-haul railway markets across South America and Latin America.
Solutions Delivered
This project delivered a complete railway polyurethane rail pad high-pressure foaming intelligent production solution. The core equipment is the Haifeng JJF-G series high-pressure foaming machine (3 sets in total), adopting high-pressure turbulent impact mixing technology to achieve low-defect, evenly distributed cell molding, fundamentally optimizing the internal polyurethane structure and stabilizing elastic modulus and fatigue strength. Heavy-duty reinforced precision molds are configured to realize synchronous uniform curing and balanced internal stress, with dimensional deviation and flatness effectively controlled within railway assembly tolerance limits.
Each production line is equipped with a dedicated high-pressure closed-loop constant temperature control module, precisely regulating foaming and curing cycles and eliminating performance deviation caused by ambient temperature fluctuation. Finished pads maintain stable toughness and elasticity within the temperature range of -40°C to 80°C, covering both domestic Uruguayan mild lines and export high-cold, high-temperature plateau rail scenarios.
Haifeng adjusted the internal flow channel and mixing head structure of the JJF-G system targeting high-activity halogen-free raw materials exclusive for rail transit, ensuring full raw material reaction and complete crosslinking curing, satisfying EN 45545 fire safety specifications for halogen-free low-smoke materials. The production line automatically collects key parameters including foaming pressure, material mixing ratio, mold temperature and curing duration, generating standardized, archivable traceability reports fully meeting the annual audit standards of Uruguay National Railways. Haifeng dispatches professional engineers overseas to complete full equipment installation, on-site commissioning, process parameter optimization and systematic operation training. The project includes a 12-month full-machine warranty, 24-hour remote technical support and expedited delivery channels for core spare parts.
