Project Overview
The customer is a medium-small PU sole processing factory based in Kigali, Rwanda, with 8 years of experience. Its core products are basic PU soles for casual shoes and safety footwear, supplying local Rwandan shoe factories and small and medium footwear enterprises in neighboring East African nations including Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania. The original semi-automatic casting equipment lacked precision metering and constant temperature control, with all proportioning, feeding and parameter adjustment relying on workers’ subjective experience. This resulted in unstable batch quality, high labor costs, severe raw material waste and limited daily output, making it hard to fulfill consistent bulk orders for East African footwear manufacturers. Combining the client’s limited budget, small factory space and demand for multi-style small-batch orders, Haifeng Polyurethane Machinery customized a lightweight single-unit intelligent upgrade solution based on our HF-LPM series polyurethane low pressure foaming machine. After transformation, the product qualification rate rose from 88% to over 95%, daily output increased from 2,500 to 3,600 pairs, and comprehensive production costs dropped by 11%. The client has since grown into a reliable local sole supplier serving Rwanda and surrounding East African markets.
Solutions Delivered
This project delivered a PU sole production solution centered on the HF-LPM series polyurethane low pressure foaming machine. The core equipment is the Haifeng HF-LPM series polyurethane low pressure foaming machine (1 set), equipped with a ±0.3% high-precision servo metering system, adjustable-speed mixing head and constant temperature forming modules. The system stabilizes mixing ratios, pouring dosage and molding temperature at the source to guarantee uniform sole density and hardness. This machine supports casting mode as the main production process for the customer’s basic PU soles, with an optional spraying function reserved for future product upgrade demands.
The equipment realizes fully automatic metering, automatic feeding, precision pouring and constant temperature control, eliminating manual batching and repeated manual adjustment. The mixing head is equipped with self-cleaning and anti-solidification functions to reduce daily maintenance workload. The touch screen is preloaded with mature sole formulas tailored to East African market demands, supporting one-click parameter recall and switching. Model change time is shortened to less than 15 minutes, perfectly matching multi-style, small-batch order demands. The machine also supports quick color and material switching within several minutes for gradient-color and two-color sole production.
Haifeng provides remote technical guidance plus on-site equipment commissioning delivered by engineers. Operators receive concise, hands-on training to achieve quick mass production startup. The HF-LPM machine features a simple structural design with low maintenance requirements, well adapted to the limited supporting conditions of African manufacturing plants.
