Project Overview
The customer is a professional manufacturer of automotive chassis polyurethane damping components based in Xianju, Taizhou, with 18 years of industry experience, mainly producing shock absorber bump stops, suspension limit buffers, engine mounts and dust boots, compatible with both new energy vehicles and fuel passenger cars. Restricted by bottlenecks of traditional semi-automatic production lines, the factory failed to meet high-precision, full-traceability and low-VOC requirements from mainstream new energy vehicle OEMs. Based on the customer’s actual production capacity and phased investment plan, Haifeng Polyurethane Machinery delivered a unified single-model modular upgrade solution for its two core PU buffer production lines. The whole transformation was completed within only 5 months without large-scale workshop overhaul. By optimizing precision PU foaming and molding processes for high-value chassis damping parts (including shock absorber bump stops and bumper limit stoppers), we helped the customer stably meet tier-one supplier standards and successfully enter the supply chain of leading new energy vehicle brands.
Solutions Delivered
This project delivered a complete automotive shock absorber bump stop polyurethane foaming intelligent production solution. The core equipment is the Haifeng JJF-G40 medium-high pressure PU foaming casting machine (2 sets in total), with metering accuracy within ±0.5%, equipped with high-speed dynamic mixing heads, perfectly matching the precision molding demand of microcellular elastomer bump stops and bumper limit stoppers. A 20-station automatic rotary mold carrier enables automatic positioning, quantitative solvent-free PU casting and robotic finished product transfer, eliminating all manual station handover losses. A built-in multi-spec formula storage module supports one-click recall of pre-set casting volume, temperature curves and foaming time, cutting model switching time below 30 minutes. The unified single-model equipment greatly reduces operator training cost, equipment debugging difficulty and later maintenance expense.
In terms of material and process optimization, customized solvent-free PU formulas are adopted, adjustable within Shore A hardness range to balance rigidity and energy absorption. The material adapts to -40℃~80℃ working conditions with compression set ≤5% and service life over 8 years. A closed-loop intelligent temperature control system with temperature error controlled within ±1℃, with 12 sets of adaptive foaming curves pre-stored. An integrated VOC closed collection + activated carbon + photocatalysis treatment system lifts waste gas capture efficiency above 98%, realizing near-zero VOC emissions. Frequency conversion drive and waste heat recovery energy-saving design cut line power consumption by 35%.
In terms of digitalization, a unified PLC intelligent control platform was deployed to connect all new casting equipment and original auxiliary machinery, realizing real-time collection of raw material ratio, mold temperature, casting weight, output yield and defect rate. Each finished shock absorber buffer / bumper limit stopper is labeled with an exclusive QR code, linking raw material batch records, real-time production parameters and finished inspection reports to achieve full-process traceability. Independent integrated testing equipment supports automatic inspection of dimensional precision, compression resistance and weather resistance, stabilizing product defect rate under 2%. Haifeng provided 3-day hands-on training for operators. Zhejiang local service outlets provide on-site engineer support within 2 hours for common faults.
