Project Overview

The customer is an automotive interior manufacturer in Changzhou, Jiangsu, with 15 years of experience in PU seat foam matching. The factory covers 28,000 square meters and operates 6 semi-automatic polyurethane seat production lines, generating sales revenue exceeding RMB 150 million in 2024. Its core products are high-resilience polyurethane seat cushions, backrests and headrest assemblies, mainly supplied to second-tier auto OEM suppliers and domestic automotive refitting markets. In recent years, orders from new energy vehicle brands have surged alongside fast-growing customized seat demands. However, the original manual foaming process failed to meet strict OEM standards on foam density uniformity and interior VOC limits. Haifeng Polyurethane Machinery customized a full-set upgrading solution based on our unified seat technical framework: Precision Foaming + Intelligent Molding + Automated Post-Processing. We completed modular renovation on 3 core production lines within 6 months, transforming the factory from extensive manual processing to precision intelligent manufacturing, and helped it pass audits to become a qualified first-tier supplier for mainstream domestic vehicle brands.

Solutions Delivered

This project delivered a complete automotive seat polyurethane foaming intelligent production solution. The core equipment is the Haifeng HF-HPM-1A1B-CarSeat high-pressure foaming machine (3 sets in total), with dynamic dosing accuracy within ±0.3%, equipped with dynamic mixing heads running at 7,000–12,000 rpm to guarantee homogeneous raw material blending. A 16-station automatic rotary mold carrier enables automatic mold positioning, quantitative solvent-free pouring and robotic mold transfer, completely eliminating manual material handling losses. A built-in multi-model formula storage library supports one-click parameter recall, shortening full mold changeover time to ≤40 minutes. The solvent-free air purge self-cleaning design generates no extra solvent waste during production.

In terms of process optimization, an upgraded closed-loop intelligent temperature control system limits temperature fluctuation within ±1℃, with 15 dedicated pre-stored foaming curves for different seat types to stabilize foam density uniformity. Fully enclosed foaming cabins + activated carbon + photocatalytic integrated waste gas treatment reduces VOC concentration below 35 mg/m³, fully compliant with GB/T 27630-2011 Passenger Vehicle Interior Air Quality Standard. Automatic edge trimmers replace manual trimming, lifting trimming precision to ±0.5 mm.

A unified intelligent control platform was deployed to record batch data including raw material ratio, foaming temperature and forming duration in real time, realizing full batch traceability and fully meeting OEM audit requirements. Haifeng Polyurethane Machinery arranged 4 senior engineers for 8 days on-site technical guidance during renovation. The modular installation design only required 1.5 days of single-line shutdown, minimizing mass production interruption. A 4-day complete hands-on training covering equipment operation, parameter adjustment and daily maintenance was provided for all operators. We provide 24-hour technical consultation and on-site troubleshooting within 2 hours for common faults.
